The Sharon Historical Society is now collecting family stories for a special exhibition at 16 High St., Sharon. The exhibition, Many Families, Many Stories, will be viewable during the month of May with an opening reception from 1 to 5 on Sunday, May 4th. The reception will give visitors the opportunity to share family stories. And the stories submitted so far are incredible: a shipwreck, a witch trial, overcoming persecution, breaking barriers, plus the way that families have shared traditions that celebrate the joys of living.
To be part of the exhibit, Sharon residents present, or past are being asked to either loan an object that illustrates their family story, along with a brief description of its meaning, or submit photographs of a traditional family activity or object, again with a brief description. We'd like to have submissions as soon as possible to give us time to assemble the exhibit, which is being curated by local historian and educator Claire Forman.
