It's Revolutionary! Event and Exhibit --The Life and Times of Deborah Samson Gannett, a "Morning at the Museum" event geared for adults

  • 01/20/2026
  • 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Sharon Historical Society, 16 High Street, Sharon, MA

Celebrate the Semiquincentennial of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of the United States by hearing about the commonly known as well as the untold and unexplored stories of Sharon's own Deborah Sampson Gannett Revolutionary War heroine and soldier.

This event will include a presentation and discussion as well as a chance to view related exhibits. There will also be time for a  creative activity -- an “in studio opportunity” to create items for the “Reflections on the Revolution: A Call to All”  Exhibition at 16 High Street in June.  This show  will display the works  of those  who have chosen to express, in their preferred medium, their views of the Revolutionary events and figures.  We are seeking  visual art, photography, poetry,  prose, music, videography, crafts, or any combination of these or any other expressive techniques.  Contributor's works will be documented and digitally preserved for future historians and history lovers to enjoy.

While at the event, participants can explore the Exhibit on the Life and Times of Deborah Sampson.  This exhibit will be on display throughout January and can also be viewed during our normal Open Hours:

·         2 - 4  Fridays

·         1 - 4  Saturdays

·         3 - 5  Sundays

If you are interested in helping with this event, contributing to the June Exhibition, or have any questions please email Programs@Sharonhistorical.org

The January 20th presentation is also available by zoom
